Bill took his usual starting position in the last row of the qualifying race. He finished 5th putting him in a 5th place starting position for the feature. He moved from 5th to 2nd and then "it" broke loose. Tonight, as last week, he was a "wreck magnet". First, Tom Van Wingerden hit him in the rear hard enough to bend the frame. While he was spinning, Cotton Spry got him good. Well he got Cotton. Then as they restarted and he was working his way back toward the front, Bill and the 33 Kentucky Fried Chicken car got together and Bill went sailing, literally airborne. He later said he thought it was going to roll over. After the restart, he worked his way back to 13th in a badly damaged racecar but has been scored in 22nd position. It is our understanding he was disqualified for the accident with the 33 car. See the video. This was a very disappointing termination of the pursuit of the 10 week championship.
